Open letter to the president Buhari Why Water Management Ministry should not be merged

Open letter to the president Buhari Why Water Management Ministry should not be merged

By Ola-Bamidele-- Olaiya Mr President, I think this story is a rare privilege, my gratitude for his appearance as president of this great nation to express. At first he was happy, is his firm intention that is still something to be excited to unusual changes in all areas. Therefore, I consider it necessary to emphasize fast and environmentally errors and secular myopic view of the sector of water resources of the country.

"Water is Life"

"The human body contains 70% water"

"The water takes 70% of the space in the world" - as popularly known. These citations are no failures or mere illusion, but the truth in its original state.

That said, I want to say here that the focus on the water sector by the various governments in Nigeria had spent so little and very inadequate. Has to this day not enough for a country that has also to survive and thrive, without doubting its water resources.

Mr. President, should be specified that based on experience, former mergers, diving or subsuming the Federal Ministry of Water Resources under another service not only for water shortage is enjoyed. Also to suppress or kill your natural vision and therefore cause problems to the population of abandoned water projects as was the case with the recent merger 2009-2011. At that time they were not high case:

• Diseases of the water which contribute strongly associated to the economic growth of countries with decreased;

• The lack of drinking water - more water manufacturers moved during the merger;

• The acute shortage of good quality drinking water in Nigeria;

• improper use of water resources in different geo-political zones of the country;

• Causes shortages or setbacks has employment opportunities for Nigerians.

• The need to pursue vigorously our natural vision, mandate and to provide ongoing

To take water to be broken the social and economic needs of the growing population

It was at last year's merger of the case.

Is • The recoil caused the triple amount of time, personnel and materials required; to invest and get the vision on track.

With the enormous challenges in the water sector, I firmly believe that a new course for the Ministry were to be included by its departments, agencies and stakeholders in the roadmap of the water sector enable Nigeria to the performance of improvement Nigeria Vision 20: 2020 MDG agenda and the African Water Vision 2025, which are of utmost importance, and was not included.

Furthermore, strongly advocates that should give top priority to the Federal Ministry of Water Resources of the quick involvement: the water sector:

Improving access to clean water,

Flood, drought,

Agriculture:

Irrigation support the agricultural revolution

Food security program

Tourism Industry:

Development of Tourism

Environmental sector:

Environmental Impact

Ecological threat he squirts

Kashimbilla prey as an important source of life and the economic engine for the benefit of Nigeria and especially the host communities

Health:

Nigeria offer standard for drinking water quality (NSDWQ) on water quality, the suppressing result in associated health problems,

Energy Sector:

Hydropower

Water presidential summit convened in February 2013, was a great success and the horizon of the water sector in the nation, combined in one department can now more the vision to cut, and to expand to further downtrend.

Overall, the Vision to the vehicle for managing the Integrated Water Resources nations, contribute to optimal socio-economic activities of the nation by a comprehensive plan to be. And provides an integrated environment for the conservation, development and management of the various uses of water, to preserve the quality and quantity of freshwater ecosystems, which for a better environmental protection, adequate access to water and sanitation, the development of irrigated agriculture food security and sustainable livelihoods and the equitable distribution of all mentioned products, including cleaning all coastal communities locally and internationally.

Your authorities and units perform various tasks are huge and important, cage and subsumed under each ministry and parastatal. These tasks include capacity building in the water sector and the most important projects for food security to ensure and economically strengthen Nigerians.

Mr President, the facts and the truth needs independent of any department in the Federal Ministry of Water Resources will be reviewed and considered as a whole. You will discover that the fusion of the industry is 70% and maul the body, the life of our world and probably an acceptable reason for the existence to do. In other words, to develop successfully for the country, it is important that the Federal Ministry of Water Resources (FMWR) I is a service and not merge with another department, because it is an organization of economic engine the basis for developing many other sectors of the nation.

Vice President of the Chamber of Deputies Lasun Yusuf Suleiman stressed this importance when he recommended that the Federal Ministry of Water Resources should not be merged, as published, be the "National Mirror" newspaper June 26, 2015.

Even with the trend, water is the world that the primacy that this sector secure the well-being of the health of the population leads to an increase in the economic development of each country.

Therefore, I humbly suggest that the Federal Ministry of Water Resources is not to be confused with another service, but the ministry and should not be your premium it deserves.

Congratulations once again sir, and thank you for considering this critical issue and accept the assurances of my highest consideration.
